Over Spring Break, me, Julia, Sharnae, and Sara went to Minneapolis to pray for people on the streets. Our goal was to help as many homeless people as we could, and give them prayer and food. We also hung up a ton of poster for Eternally King Ministries. We walked around Minneapolis trying to find people to talk to. We only talked to two people who said they were homeless, but after talking to them, we realized they just had homes and food. We still prayed for them and offered them food. Neither of them accepted the food, but took the prayer. The next day, we decided to go to the Mall of America to pray for people and hand out posters. It was terrible. I only talked to maybe six people in three hours. After meeting back up with people, we all realized we were all having a difficult time reaching out and having the confidence and fire to pray for people. We were also getting rejected left and right. We decided to leave and went back to Sara’s house to eat. After we regrouped a bit, we decided to take another crack at the mall. We went back determined to touch people no matter what happened. I went with Sharnae and Sara and Julia went off together. Me and Shar talked to a man right away who was trying to stump us with questions. He kept trying to contradict what we were saying, but to my surprise, we answered every one of his questions pretty well. He left us after that without much of a good-bye. We then split up for a minute so we could each pray for people. I asked to guys if they needed prayer and the older man said his back hurt. I prayed for it and he said it felt better, then I talked to them a bit before joining back up with Shar who said her people did not want prayer. We kept moving to the first floor where we split up again. She prayed for a lady and healer her, then the lady’s family came over and Shar led all of them in a prayer. I walked on to find a couple sitting down. I walked up to them and started by saying, “Excuse me, guys, but this is gonna sound super random, can I pray for you guys? I am just going around praying for people and I was just wondering if you guys had anything I could pray for, like do you have any pain in your body that you want gone?” Right away the man said his back hurt. He said it was a 8 out of 10 when I asked him how much pain there was. I put my hand on his back and prayed that the pain would go away. I said, “God, I thank you so much for this man. I know you love him and that you have a desire to heal him. I command this pain right now to leave. I speak to this pain in his back and command it to leave. Thank you God for giving me the authority through You to be able to cast out this evil spirit. Jesus, just come into this man and heal him 100%. Thank you, Lord.” The guy looked up at me and started moving his back around. He said calmly, “There’s no pain.” I was so excited because this was the first miracle of the night. I jumped up and started telling him all about how this could happen. His girlfriend or wife was sitting there, too. I looked at her and asked if she had anything she wanted prayed for because of what she had just seen. She said no. Her boyfriend started signaling towards her neck. She shook her head a little bit, but then after a few seconds just agreed. She said she could not turn her neck all the way. She said she had a cramp that ran from her neck to her back all the time. I put my hand on her and prayed. Then I asked her if it was better. She tried moving it and said no. I quickly asked if I could try praying one more time. She said fine. Her boyfriend took her hand and held her close while we prayed. After we were done she moved her neck again. Her eyes got super wide immediately after trying out her neck. She started laughing and stuttering about how she couldn’t believe this could happen. She moved her neck all over, just trying it out. I was so excited I started yelling around about how awesome Jesus is. I talked to them about Jesus and how much He loves them and how this is Him knocking at their door. I left them and walked on to a lady sitting by herself. I introduced myself and asked if I could pray for her. She said her knee hurt and burned from standing all day. I prayed for it, and she said that nothing happened. I asked if I could pray again and she said yes. I prayed and again and when I opened my eyes, there was a teenage girl standing by the lady. I looked at her and said hi. The lady told me that was her daughter. The lady also said her knee had just gone numb and the burning was gone. She looked at her daughter and said, “I swear, the burning is gone, I’m not playin’ right now.” Another girl walked up, a little older than the other. The lady told her the same thing. They both were stunned. I asked if all the pain was gone, and the lady said no, just the burning was. I asked if I could pray one last time. The lady looked reluctant, but agreed. I prayed one more time and the lady said it all went away. She stood and said, “It’s all gone, all of it.” The girls looked at me, astonished. I then talked to the family for about 20 minutes about how Jesus loves them and just wants to be with them all the time. They listened intently until I said goodbye. That night, as a team, we had to of touched over 100 people, with over 20 healings done in Jesus’s name. God was on the move through us that night. He wants us to do this every day, but we decide not to because of other distractions in our life. Just take God with you no matter where you go and He will show you His incredible ways. His thought and ways are much higher than ours, so do not get discouraged when healing does not work. It is a test of faith. With God, you can pass any test. God is the teacher and he gives out the exams. To pass the exam, you must study (read the bible), and once you pass that exam, there’s usually another test after that until the final exam comes (judgement day). If you are in constant communion with God (the teacher), you will do fine, but if you aren’t communicating and reading the bible, and basically just living for Him, the test will probably beat you.
I was lying on my futon, praying, when I heard rushing footsteps and crying outside my window. God provoked me to go downstairs and see if anyone needed comfort or healing. I raced down the stairs and entered the lobby. I looked around, no one was hurt or crying. No one was down there besides Megan, who was standing on a stool and the CA worker who was behind Oak’s front desk. I pretended that I had to check my mailbox. Megan looked at me and said, “I feel so tall right now.” I told her she might actually be taller than me. She motioned me to come closer to see if I was actually taller than her while she was standing on the stool. It was pretty close. When I took a step back, she kind of looked side to side, and said, “Wow! Is this what you see all the time?” I kind of chuckled and left the lobby.
As I was exiting the lobby, I repeated what she had said to me, “Is this what you see all the time?” I had a revelation on how this tied in my Christian life. Yes, this is what I see all the time, but only because God has shown me that I can go even further with my faith. Everyday is full of opportunities given by God for us to learn and grow in our faith. If we do not take these opportunities presented by God, our faith will remain unchanged from the day prior. Each day acts like a building block for our faith foundation, but only if we act upon the opportunities that are given. It is important to grab these everyday opportunities so that our faith can be taken to new heights. Ever since coming to Bemidji, I have witness how God has taken me to new heights. He encourages me to get out of my comfort zone and to reach people who are scared, lonely, and in pain. I rely on His strength when I reach out to His people, because I know I can not do it alone. His comforting voice reassures me that I can do anything with Him by my side. I got back up to my room, sat down with my computer and began writing this journal entry when I heard the rushing footsteps and the crying again. This time, I whipped open my blinds and saw a girl with her hands up to her face sobbing. I should have yelled for her to stay there because I wanted to pray for her. I fleeted my dorm room and raced down the stairs, again. I got down to the lobby in thirty seconds and headed outside. I did not see her. I stepped out on the steps and looked around. She was nowhere to be found. Where could she have gone. I started walking down the sidewalk and headed to Wally’s. I waited there for a few minutes and headed back to Oak. As I was walking back, I said a couple times out loud, “God loves you!” Do not be afraid to let God take you to new heights.
answered prayersThis was a scary miracle. So, Sara had been sick for a couple of weeks, but she was just congestedand had a little pain in her side so she thought it was just a cold or something. Well, it is February of 2017 and Sara said it was getting worse but she did not want to go into the hospital, which I understand. One night, however, we were just talking after our small groups, and Sara just started saying she hurt bad in her side. Julia wanted to go into the hospital, but Sara did not yet, she said just wait. Julia called Sara’s mom finally and said we were going in. Julia, me, and Daniel started praying over Sara to be healed. We prayed while Sharnae went to get her car. After Sharnae came back, we were still praying in tongues. I ran and told Nate that Sara was sick and we were bringing her in. He grabbed his stuff and came with me. We all prayed for Sara in the hallway again as we were leaving. Suddenly, she started to cry and said the pain was too much. We helped her into the elevator to go downstairs. About halfway down, she fainted. We think now that she overheated due to her fever. We just held her until we reached the 1st floor. She said she could not stand so I picked her up and carried her out to the car. Before I did that, I asked God to give me the strength to be able to carry her safely to the car. She felt like 50 lbs. After I put her in the front seat, we laid the front seat back for her. Me and Daniel squeezed in the back seat together. I wanted to be there for her through it all. Nate and Kaleb decided to stay back, I think to pray. Anyway, even though they did not come, we were still focused on Sara. The whole way to the hospital, we prayed for Sara. Sharnae ran a red light to get there faster. We apparently went to the “closed” side of the hospital, which seems ridiculous. In an emergency, you just go to the hospital, you do not take the time to see what part is open. We had to help Sara back in the car while we figured out which door to go into. We finally found the urgent care door that was open. I ran in and told the lady what was happening. Instead of calling someone, she had to ask Sara a bunch of questions while we watched her. We had just rushed her to the hospital and now we are waiting for the lady to ask her questions about her birthday. Then she told us to take a seat. I was honestly about to ask her why they put the “urgent” in urgent care. Anyway a few minutes later a nurse came and asked Sara more questions and took her temperature. She was at 100 degrees. Then they had her go back to a room where only two people could go with. Julia and Sharnae went with Sara. Me and Daniel stayed back and prayed for about 30 minutes until Sara texted me to come see her. Daniel was crying most of the time we were praying so I just held his hand and prayed more. Our prayers worked because when I went back to see Sara she said there was no infection, but there were bacteria in her urine. The nurse prescribed antibiotics and we could leave. We had to get the pills from a machine in the lobby, which was very poorly set up. I had to go ask for a specific number that they never gave us so that we could call some lady to approve insurance. Finally, the pills popped out and we could go back. We were at the hospital until 2:00 AM, we had left BSU at around 12. Sara was going to be fine, so everything was now relaxed. I had texted people earlier to pray for her, and hopefully they did. Prayer really works, maybe Sara could have had a kidney infection but because we prayed, it was just a little bacteria.
visionsThis was last night at Kings. It was Valentine’sDay 2017, and Kings was having a special night for us. They had food and love cards from God. We basically just did a regular worship night for God, but then at the end of it, we did visions and prophecies for each other. Kaleb had to leave early for his intramural basketball game, Julia had to leave to study math, and Nate just left with Kaleb, but he said he wanted to watch the Timberwolves game. Anyway, me, Sharnae, and Sara were still there. I had felt very little from the Lord last night, while it seemed everyone else was getting revelations. Austin had one about sex, and how Jesus is like our groom. We must open up and accept him like a bride accepting her groom during sex. Then Jesus plants his seed, or “comes” inside of us and lives in us. It sounds weird, but it makes sense. He is a gentleman, so He won’t force himself in us, we have to accept Him. Anyway, after his revelation, we did the prophecies. Someone would sit in the middle of our group while the rest of us asked God for a word. Many people were getting things about mirrors. The one I really liked was about a girl trying on clothes and admiring them in the mirror, then suddenly the mirror shattered, and standing behind it was Jesus. This totally meant that we were looking at ourselves, our own image, and not God’s. Then Jesus shattered the mirror and looked back at us. This is amazing because we are supposed to be like Jesus, when we look in the mirror we should see Jesus in ourselves, we were made in His image. Self-image is earthly and of the flesh, not of God. I also received a vision for Amelia. I saw a golden ship floating in the sea. The sea was rough and calm, it seemed to go back and forth between the two. When the sea was rough and remained rough, a rainbow came down and covered the whole sea. I think the sea was our sin. When we sin, the sea gets rough, and when we were following God, the sea was calm. Well, the sea was rough, so we were sinning, but then a rainbow came down, like the promise from God after the great flood in Noah’s time. The rainbow symbolizes a new start, like after a flood. A new start is like our repentance and God’s grace coming down on us. We become a new creation after we accept Jesus, and the rainbow takes away our sin when our seas get rough. It is forgiveness from God, and we are the gold ship floating on the sea, which could be seen as the world. The world that tempts us to sin and stir up the waves. Finally, it was nearing the end of Kings and I had not gone in the middle yet. I really wanted to go in, but I did not want to take it away from someone else. Finally, Brandon asked if I wanted to go in. I said sure and crawled in. Sara’s vision was that I was a wolf, I was independent and could survive on my own, but in a pack, I was much stronger. I love that vision. Sharnae said that she saw kindness and strength in me. I was holding a child’s hand in her vision, but I was stooped down low so I could do so. I think this means being uncomfortable for someone else’s comfort. Then she said at the same time I had strength, and no one could sway me from what I believed in. I loved that vision too. Amanda then said she saw me as a boxer, but as I was boxing, I was beat boxing at the same time. Everyone laughed. She said that I was strong and fighting for the kingdom of God, and my beat boxing turned into tongues. I had my own vision as well about the trip me and my Grandma were going to take. We were planning a trip for the summer and I wanted to go to Washington, DC. There was the Lincoln Memorial that I really wanted to go to. Now, in my vision I saw the Lincoln Memorial with a huge gold crown on top of the building. In place of Lincoln, there was Jesus or God on the throne. He had a crown on too. He had given all of us Christians crowns and we bowed down to Him and thanked Him. He then told us that we were Kings, like the group name, and that we were going to revolutionize how people saw Kings. Kings have always been seen as the top of society, mostly because they are rich and have power. But, truly Kings are leaders, and leaders are supposed to put themselves below others and serve them. Jesus told us to go out and be Kings by leading others by putting ourselves below them and serving them. Amanda brought up that Lincoln symbolizes honesty and truth, and Jesus was the greatest truth we could ever know. I never thought about that, I just thought it popped into my head because of the trip I was taking. Everything happens for a reason, and I think taking the trip is meant to happen, or at least planning it did. I love that vision because it explains what we are here for, we are royalty of God. To a non-believer’s eye, us calling ourselves royalty might make them think we are full of ourselves, however it is the exact opposite. We are not full of ourselves, but full of God, the one who made us and gave us the chance to be royalty. As royalty, we are Kings and leaders of the world, which, again someone might think we think we are higher than everyone else by calling ourselves leaders, but really leaders are supposed to serve. That is something the world has destroyed; the world has made leaders to be better than everyone else. It is so ironic, and the earth and heaven is so different in this sense, and I love it. God is so great, even when we do not feel Him there, we can know and believe He is there.
